Biyang Wang, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social WorkerI work with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, helping each individual reach the highest aspirations in all areas of life, including career, lifestyle, personal growth, and relationships.
I earned my BA in Psychology and Neuroscience from Princeton University, and my MA from University of Chicago – Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. I completed my post-graduate training with the Advanced Psychodynamic Fellowship Program at The University of Chicago.
I specialize in working with issues of identity, life transitions, intimacy, trauma, self esteem, and finding purpose, focusing on the experiences of the Asian and AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islanders) population, as well as those with mixed cultural, racial/ethnic, and immigration backgrounds.
My therapeutic approach is strength-based, insight-oriented, trauma-informed, collaborative, psychodynamic and individualized to meet the unique needs of each client. I strive to cultivate an empathetic, supportive, and accepting environment for my clients to feel seen, while also challenged and inspired to take on new perspectives, ways of thinking, and daily practices.
Through working together, clients can learn important life skills, such as setting healthy boundaries, expressing personal needs, identifying and processing emotions, deepening relationships, and becoming secure in their identity.
I am currently licensed in 5 states: Illinois, California, New Jersey, Florida, and Washington DC.
