- Ying Hsu, LPCLicensed Professional Counselor
Ying places a high priority on helping her clients overcome anxiety while developing a courageous and self-compassionate view of life. She enjoys helping each person discover how they can become their better self by discovering that they can do more than they ever believed possible, one step at a time. She uses the latest scientific approaches to anxiety, resilience building, and emotional self-regulation to help each client identify the beliefs, experiences, and challenges that make it difficult to overcome anxiety. She combines cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, ACT, and DBT to customize a treatment program. She strives also to teach everyone ways to prevent future relapse by cultivating robust mental wellness.
Ying is also fluent in Mandarin and especially enjoys using her mother tongue to help those who prefer a Mandarin-speaking therapist. Her background of immigrating from Taiwan to the United States gives her a special appreciation for patients experiencing anxiety related to cross-cultural challenges. She has special training in working with trauma and especially enjoys working with children, teens, and families. She loves working with all anxiety disorders, ADHD, and those who suffer from skin picking and hair pulling (trichotillomania and dermatillomania).
As a first-generation Taiwanese immigrant, Ying understands the turmoils that acculturation and life transition. And finds the importance of providing culturally sensitive and appropriate care and support for clients and their families.
Ying is currently accepting new clients.
