Mei Liou Zarnitsyna (she/they), LCPC, EdS
Licensed Clinical Professional CounselorEducational SpecialistI am biracial, identify as Taiwanese-American, and grew up in a mixed 1st-/4th-generation immigrant home. I earned my M.A. and ABD status in the Ph.D. program in Philosophy at the University of Illinois-Chicago and enjoyed working abroad in Germany and Russia before retraining as a therapist at Loyola University Chicago. A former teacher at the Davidson Academy of Nevada, which serves profoundly gifted students, I love working with gifted/2E teens and adults. I have a particular passion for supporting late-identified autistic adults, and I am a graduate of PDA North America's certification program in the PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile of autism. My approach is queer-positive, trans-affirming, and trauma-sensitive. In my free time, I enjoy biking, learning languages, aesthetic experiences, and info-dumping about a variety of topics. I love collaborating with clients to create a safe, empathetic space for personal growth.
