Alan Tsang, LCPC
Licensed Clinical Professional CounselorI am passionate in helping you be open about your experiences, especially those that can be uncomfortable to openly discuss. I identify as a Chinese-American and can understand the difficulties in being vulnerable with others especially in a culture that deters from openly talking about our struggles and experiences. My passion is driven by the stigma that surrounds mental health support in many Asian communities. My goal is to help you move away from that stigma and realize that talking about issues can be impactful, whether it is depression, anxiety, or changes in your life.
I will work with you at your pace, help you gain insight on how your experiences have shaped you, and learn to progress from them. I work with an open mind and use an integrative approach that is influenced by a psychodynamic theory, allowing you to learn about how your experiences have influenced you, and how you relate to those around you. I also believe that clients know themselves best, and will help in navigating the various nuances of your life story by actively listening to your narrative without judgment.
A safe space will always be created for you to share your struggles, conflicts, and even your triumphs in life. It would be an honor and privilege to accompany you in your therapeutic journey.
